Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You will perform triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing, while providing compassionate support to pet parents during stressful moments.

Ideal candidates are credentialed veterinary technicians with 1+ year of experience, capable of lifting up to 25 kg and working nights, weekends, and holidays in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in veterinary technology preferred
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located is required
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred
• Basic computer skills and comprehension of practice management software and EMR

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person like they matter—you’ll be by their side through tests, treatments, and procedures
• Deliver nursing care and emotional support in critical moments, from triage to discharge
• Assist with IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and other monitoring
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to plan and maintain flow of care
• Perform CPR and other advanced emergency techniques as needed
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, tubes, and anesthesia support
• Use advanced tools like central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds as required
