Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line team delivering gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care in a fast-paced ER. You will work closely with doctors to triage, treat, and support pets and their families during emergencies.

You will handle anesthesia, monitoring, diagnostics, and critical care nursing, while growing your skills and contributing to a collaborative culture at VEG.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited program preferred.
• Credential as a Veterinary Technician in the practicing state is required; VTS a plus.
• 1+ year experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty preferred.
• Strong communication and computer skills; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients and support families with compassion during emergencies.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Administer meds, monitor patients, and manage IVs/CRIs and transfusions.
• Collaborate with doctors to plan care and keep workflows smooth.
• Assist with anesthesia, diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubes placement.
• Perform advanced techniques as needed and maintain high standards of care.
