Job summary

National Police seeks a dedicated dispatcher to support emergency and non-emergency communications for police, fire, and medical services. The role includes monitoring alarms, managing jail access, and coordinating with responders to ensure rapid, accurate information flow.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with six months of security experience preferred. CJIS/NCIC and NIMS training may be completed during probation to ensure preparedness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; six months security/law enforcement experience preferred.
• Must possess or obtain CJIS/NCIC and NIMS courses during probation.
• Physically capable of operating a variety of equipment including 911 console.
• Must maintain self-control in emergencies and tense calls.

Responsibilities

• Answers 911 emergency calls for police, ambulance, and fire service; dispatches units and creates initial reports.
• Answers non-emergency calls for miscellaneous services.
• Queries and searches information in databases.
• Monitors alarms, weather alerts, and state messages; dispatches units and disseminates sirens.
• Monitors jail security cameras and controls jail access through perimeter doors.
• Reviews reports and documents; handles intercom at jail doors and may control jail pod in emergencies.
• Performs other related duties as required.
