Job summary

The City of Birmingham (EOE) is seeking a Police Dispatcher to coordinate police, fire, and EMS units. You will answer 911 lines and non-emergency calls, operate CAD systems, and manage radio communications under the supervision of the Commander.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and dispatch experience preferred. The role requires calm under pressure, attention to detail, and strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Professional dispatch experience and knowledge of law enforcement terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide citizens with quick, efficient and courteous service in person and by telephone.
• Maintain daily shift reports and 911 logs.
• Operate CLEMIS and LEIN; monitor and coordinate police, fire and EMS activity and assignments.
• Additional related responsibilities as assigned.
