Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of full-time experience in a related field.
  • Ability to operate a computer and navigate various programs.
  • Ability to pass keyboarding and job simulation test.
  • Must obtain PST 1, EMD, and BLS CPR certifications before training completion.
  • Valid driver's license and Hoover Driver's Permit.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment screening.
  • Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and route appropriately.
  • Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units per procedures.
  • Maintain radio communication with field units and monitor status.
  • Enter call details and responder activity into CAD system.
  • Operate CAD, mapping systems, and the multi-line phone system.
  • Perform system checks and report malfunctions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public.
