Job summary

City of Millbrook is seeking a full-time dispatcher to operate 24/7, including holidays. You will receive and dispatch emergency and routine calls for police, fire, and EMS using a CAD system.

The role requires strong knowledge of local geography, clear communication, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. The position requires learning department terminology and equipment, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local geography including streets and highways.
• Ability to speak clearly and act quickly in emergencies.
• Must obtain/maintain certification from the National Criminal Intelligence Center.
• Background check required and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch emergency and routine calls for police, fire, ambulance and other services using CAD.
• Learn the department's communications equipment and terminology.
• Work varied shift schedules, including weekends, holidays and emergencies.
• Assist during high-stress situations and maintain composure.
