Job summary

Town of Gilbert's Police Dispatch Team seeks highly motivated candidates to receive, dispatch and monitor 911 and non-emergency calls in a 24/7 communications center supporting police, fire, and Town staff.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, have 1 year of customer service experience, can type 54 keystrokes per minute, and will obtain a Level A TOC certification within 6 months. The role is at-will and non-exempt with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service environment.
• TOC certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to type 54 keystrokes per minute (KPM).

Responsibilities

• Receives and routes incoming emergency 911 and non-emergency calls from the public and other agencies.
• Maintains proper radio communications in accordance with regulations.
• Operates a multi-screen dispatch console and telephone system.
• Researches information from databases including CJIS and criminal history data.
• Monitors and conducts queries in CJIS; updates hot files as needed.
