Job summary

City of Statesville (NC) Police Department is seeking a Police Telecommunicator to receive 911 and non-emergency calls, prioritize them by severity, and dispatch appropriate public safety units. You will monitor communications and maintain records while supporting field officers via radio and CAD/RMS systems.

The role requires NCIC checks, CAD proficiency, and the ability to work the 6:00PM–6:00AM shift, including weekends and holidays; salary is posted and open until filled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of 911 and non-emergency dispatch procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly under pressure and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize 911 and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch police/fire units and maintain radio communications.
• Operate CAD and RMS systems; log activities accurately.
• Monitor officers' activities and provide information as needed.
• Maintain criminal history and warrants records; perform data checks.
• May serve as CTO or A/TAC; train new hires if assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
