Qualifications

• Answers 911 lines and other emergency lines to determine type of assistance, location, and urgency.
• Directs calls to the appropriate units via telephone or radio.
• Formats and maintains reports and records such as NCIC entries and daily statistics.

Responsibilities

• Answers 911, emergency, and non-emergency lines to determine needs and urgency; prioritizes and directs calls.
• Dispatches or transfers calls to fire, police, public services or other agencies.
• Monitors radios, CAD, NCIC terminals and other equipment.
• Maintains records and reports and references policy manuals and codes.
