Job summary

ChristianaCare in Wilmington, DE seeks an Emergency Care Technician to support the Emergency Department under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will perform hygiene and comfort measures, take vitals, and assist with phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic nursing tasks to care for neonatal to geriatric patients.

The role requires BLS, a high school diploma or equivalent, and either prior experience or completion of a PCT/Phlebotomist program. Full-time with rotating shifts and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior work experience or completion of Patient Care Technician and/or Phlebotomist programs.

Responsibilities

• Performs hygiene and comfort measures and selected nursing tasks under supervision.
• Acquires vital signs and performs EKGs.
• Performs venipuncture and finger sticks following safety policies.
• Assists with unit tasks such as height/weight measurements and lab specimen handling.
