Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support the ED with patient care, registrar duties, and unit clerk tasks under RN supervision. You will assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, monitoring, phlebotomy, and equipment maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and training in nursing assistant, medical assisting, EMT, or care tech programs. BLS is required, and experience in acute care is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, PT Care Tech, or military medics training required.
• 1–2 years patient care experience in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Observe patient condition and report changes to RN.
• Operate and monitor patient equipment and perform phlebotomy as directed.
• Maintain clean, stocked, safe patient environment.
• Provide clerical support on the unit and greet patients.
