Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking an EMT for the Public Safety team to support the Emergency Department and respond to in-house emergencies. The role requires EMT-B certification (National Registry and Delaware) and EVO-C, with at least 2 years of emergency experience. Evening shift and 12-hour shifts are offered with weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• EMT-B certification required (National Registry and Delaware).
• BLS certification required; BLS Instructor preferred.
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVO-C).
• Minimum 2 years of emergency patient interaction experience; 911 experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in the Emergency Department for changes warranting triage re-evaluation.
• Monitor waiting area for safety hazards and take corrective action.
• Assist patients and visitors with questions and concerns.
• Offload and load patients for helicopter landings.
• Respond to emergencies throughout Christiana Hospital.
• Render care to stabilize individuals.
• Transport patients to appropriate areas for treatment and assist ED staff during high volume.
