Job summary

Nemours is seeking an Emergency Department Technician in Wilmington, DE. The role requires EMT certification and current BLS/PEARS, and involves assisting ED staff with patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

The position is 36 hours per week, with set shifts and weekend/holiday coverage, and expects the tech to respond to non-patient emergencies campus-wide, support rapid assessment, and help with procedures.

Qualifications

• EMT certification required upon hire.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• PEARS obtained upon hire.
• Minimum of 6 months healthcare or ED-related experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist ED team with patient care activities under RN guidance.
• Assess patients per pediatric assessment triangle.
• Assist Rapid Assessment nurse with vitals and medications.
• Transport patients to imaging and units.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, POCT as needed.
• Respond to Code Blues and trauma codes.
• Maintain room supplies and readiness.
• Document intake/output and vitals.
