Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of experience using two-way radio, multi-line telephone, or computer aided dispatch systems; or
• Two years of experience using computer systems for entering, updating, and retrieving information; or
• Completion of 60 college credits; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Call Handling: Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and gather important details from callers
• Incident Coordination: Dispatch information to Troopers and contact other agencies for response support
• Record Management: Maintain accurate incident information using electronic systems and databases
• Information Research: Use CLEAN, JNET, and other systems to access and update records as needed
• Public Assistance: Respond to administrative inquiries and greet and assist visitors at the station
• Training Participation: Attend communications training and help new operators learn procedures
