Job summary

The New York State Canal Corporation is seeking a Program Aide to support Emergency Action Plans, incident management, and dam safety programs in the Western Region. You will coordinate training, maintain records, and assist with compiling documentation for FEMA reimbursements.

Responsibilities include staffing the Canal Regional Operations Center during activations, coordinating EH&S trainings, and providing broad administrative support to Syracuse Headquarters.

Qualifications

  • Must be reachable on the New York State Civil Service eligible list for Program Aide.
  • Three years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and implement Emergency Action Plans with EMOs and EAP Coordinator.
  • Coordinate EAP drills and Exercises to identify gaps and improvements.
  • Support Emergency Activation in staffing regional and state centers.
  • Oversee Environmental, Health and Safety training administration and scheduling.
  • Provide administrative support to Syracuse Headquarters and related offices.
  • Assist with miscellaneous duties and special projects as directed.
