New York City Emergency Management (NYCEM) seeks a College Aide to support executive leadership and improve inter-agency operations. The role includes research, drafting briefing materials, and coordinating meetings with agency leadership and external partners.

You will assist with special projects, help prepare for internal and external engagements, and ensure timely follow-up on priority initiatives while maintaining discretion with sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills; ability to synthesize information into clear materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of strategic priorities for the Commissioner and executive leadership.
  • Assist with special projects and executive-level research on incidents, events, and practices.
  • Provide administrative, analytical, and logistical support to Executive Office operations, including meetings and briefing materials.
  • Collaborate across NYCEM bureaus to advance initiatives, track deliverables, and support agency-wide coordination.
  • Support the Commissioner's Office with research, briefing materials, and preparation for internal/external meetings.
  • Draft, edit, and organize executive-level materials (memos, talking points, presentations, summaries, correspondence).
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and stakeholder engagements with agency leadership and external partners.
  • Track priority initiatives, leadership requests, and follow-up items for timely execution.
  • Conduct research on emerging issues and public policy to inform executive decision-making.
  • Support Executive Office communications by gathering information across the agency.
