Job summary

Public Safety Dispatch Network in Roy, NM seeks 911 Call Takers to listen first, ask focused questions, confirm locations, and document details for responders coordinating emergency services.

Call takers may work in centers where dispatch and call taking are separate or combined, and you will be trained for necessary duties, with opportunities to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service or call center experience preferred.
• Strong listening and accurate typing skills.
• Clear verbal communication and following structured procedures.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming emergency calls and assigned nonemergency lines.
• Confirm incident location and caller’s callback information.
• Use approved questions to identify nature and urgency.
• Enter details into call-processing or dispatch software.
• Forward incident information promptly to the appropriate dispatch function.
• Provide authorized pre-arrival instructions within training.
• Use language-access and accessibility resources when needed.
