Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced EMC Engineer to join our Engineering Center of Excellence. You will lead EMI/EMC testing efforts for avionics systems, develop test plans, and execute MIL-STD-461 tests across a range of components, ensuring compliance and robust verification.

Role requires a BS in engineering, 3 years in EMC/EMI testing, and strong collaboration skills to work across fast-paced, cross-functional teams. Relocation provided and on-site work in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
  • 3 years of hands-on EMC/EMI testing and verification across MIL-STD-461 CE/CS/RE/RS methods.
  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-461G, DO-160G, MIL-B-5087, NASA-STD-4003, CISPR standards.
  • Proficiency in EMI test automation software and data analysis.
  • Ability to work in small, fast-paced teams and communicate effectively.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a responsible engineer for electrical system EMI/EMC test and verification, ensuring compliance with standards and guidelines.
  • Design, develop, and refine Test Plans and Test Procedures for EMI/EMC testing of avionics components.
  • Perform MIL-STD-461 test suite including CE101, CE102, CS101, CS114, CS115, CS116, RE101, RE102, RS101, RS103.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain EMI/EMC test equipment (receivers, generators, LISNs, antennas, probes).
  • Apply shielded room and grounding techniques per MIL-STD-461 requirements; document tests with thorough reports.
  • Troubleshoot test failures, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
