Job description

Join to apply for the Embroidery Machine Operator role at Nine Line Apparel.

This position requires the ability to set up the machine efficiently and accurately. Responsibilities include overseeing daily production, observing mechanical and personnel functions, and reporting variances to the Embroidery Manager. The role involves performing all set-ups, changeovers, operation, adjustments, and cleaning of the machine. Additionally, the person will supervise, train, and oversee personnel involved in the process.

Daily Tasks
  1. Be present at the workstation once clocked in and notify a supervisor before leaving.
  2. Follow department and company policies and procedures.
  3. Practice all safety measures around the machines.
  4. Trim backing, thread, and loose stitching without damaging garments.
  5. Perform quality checks and confirm garment counts match production orders.
  6. Operate the embroidery machine, ensuring proper hooping, threading, tension, needle selection, and design loading.
  7. Make necessary adjustments during operation and monitor the machine for issues.
  8. Stand for extended periods as required.
  9. Stage garments for embroidery and delegate tasks to staff.
  10. Train and supervise operators, assistants, and trimmers.
  11. Maintain cleanliness of the work area and manage supplies.
  12. Evaluate staff performance as requested.
  13. Report supply needs to the Embroidery Manager.
