Job Overview:

This position is responsible for operating one or more Computer Numeric Control (CNC) machines to produce high-precision small parts and cutting instruments. Responsibilities include setting up machines, creating part profiles and shapes, placing specific features, and cutting or sharpening instrument teeth to meet final specifications. This role may require working mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Read prints and job orders to determine product specifications, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
2. Operate precision CNC machines to create products meeting required dimensions.
3. Inspect and measure parts to ensure specifications are met.
4. Maintain job routing information and complete sign-offs as required.
5. Perform other related production tasks as needed.
6. Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts on machines in coordination with maintenance personnel.
7. Inform the subsequent shift operator of the current production status.
8. Keep the work area clean and free of oil and residue.
9. Complete other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Work Experience:

One year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate from college or technical school specific to CNC Machine Operation is a plus.
• Experience with Amada Laser is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Ability to read, understand, and perform standard procedures and work instructions.
• Intermediate mechanical skills required.
• Intermediate math and logic skills required.
• Intermediate computer skills and software experience required.

Travel / Physical Demands:

• Travel is typically not required.
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise. The role requires sitting or standing for extended periods, using hands to operate machinery, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Eye protection must be worn at all times.
