Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Electronic Systems Verification and Validation Engineer in Mossville, IL to support lab-based testing of embedded software. You will verify and validate electrical systems powering Caterpillar machines and collaborate with a skilled engineering team using SiL and HiL methods.

You will develop test plans, execute regression tests, and document results to meet functional safety and ISO 9001 requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Embedded software and hardware testing experience is preferred.
• Experience with SiL/HiL testing environments and ISO 9001/compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Define testing priorities and test coverage with the team lead and engineers.
• Develop test plans, perform regression testing, and troubleshoot new features.
• Document test results and defect-tracking reports for compliance.
• Develop automated test scripts to improve HiL and SiL testing efficiency.
• Contribute to selecting next-gen test environments and tools.
