Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, IL is seeking an embedded systems test engineer to work with the test team, system designers and software engineers to drive test plans, regressions and automation for HiL/SiL environments.

You will apply C, C++, and Simulink, Python scripting, and dSPACE tools to verify machine software and support ISO 9001 and functional safety requirements. This on-site role includes relocation assistance and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Education: Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or CS.
• Proficiency with dSPACE hardware/software (VEOS, ControlDesk, Automation Desk).
• Experience with product testing approaches for embedded systems.
• Strong data analysis and testing regression capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define testing priorities with the testing team lead and engineers.
• Develop and execute test plans; document results and troubleshoot features.
• Perform regression testing to ensure functional safety and ISO 9001 compliance.
• Create test processes; analyze defect-tracking reports.
• Develop bench capabilities and automations for HiL/SiL environments.
• Write automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency.
