Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space seeks an experienced Software Engineering Leader to drive the software lifecycle in NGI IRAD programs, including requirements analysis, object oriented design, code, unit test, integration and delivery support. The role demands embedded software experience and leadership of multi‑disciplinary teams in a U.S.

environment with security clearances. The successful candidate will have experience with C/C++, the full software lifecycle, and Agile development, and will help

Qualifications

• Ability to work collaboratively in multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Experience working embedded software development.
• Experience leading software development teams and projects.
• Experience with staffing and talent development.
• Working knowledge of C++.
• Understanding of the full software life‑cycle (design, development, integration, test, qualification).
• Experience with Agile SW development environments.
• Ability to translate technical details into clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development activities following the Software Development Plan (SDP).
• Coordinate recruitment, selection, and training of staff; manage performance and assignments.
• Oversee design, development, documentation, and testing of software.
• Ensure software standards are met across the lifecycle.
