Job summary

KGS LLC in Arlington, VA, seeks an experienced Device Software Development Engineer for Amazon Leo Government. You will design embedded software for satellite and ground systems, focusing on fault-tolerant, real-time platforms and secure communication for government missions.

You will work with hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver high-performance solutions, mentor engineers, and uphold strict software quality standards. On-site five days a week in Arlington with relocation support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture of systems.
• Experience programming with at least one language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for satellite and ground terminal systems.
• Leverage Embedded Linux and RTOS frameworks for scalable, high-performance software.
• Implement data processing, device control, and networking protocols.
• Debug hardware-software integration issues using analysis tools.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure system reliability and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews.
