Job summary

Amazon Leo Government is seeking an experienced Device Software Development Engineer to design and develop embedded software for satellite and ground systems. You will work on fault-tolerant, real-time platforms and collaborate with hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions.

This role supports critical government initiatives for U.S. and allied missions, with on-site work five days a week in Northridge, El Segundo, or Arlington and relocation benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for satellite and ground terminal systems.
• Leverage Embedded Linux and RTOS to build scalable, modular, high-performance software.
• Implement and integrate software for data processing, device control, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP).
• Debug and resolve hardware-software integration issues using logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware-software interaction and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews, uphold high software quality standards.
