Vermeer is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer Intern to help develop software powering our next‑generation equipment. You’ll gain hands‑on experience, mentorship, and a path to a full‑time role after graduation.

You’ll work on embedded code (C/C++/MATLAB/Simulink), CAN-based control systems, and UI/UX interfaces, with Agile practices and CI/CD tooling. This onsite internship in Iowa provides growth into engineering roles and exposure to industry standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
• Exposure to embedded programming and control systems via coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with CAN, RTOS (FreeRTOS or VxWorks) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and testing embedded software for real-time control systems.
• Support integration and debugging of control systems using CAN protocols and analysis tools.
• Help develop HMI/UI with Qt or LabVIEW for operator interfaces.
• Participate in Agile dev practices and CI/CD using Git/GitHub.
• Assist in system validation and documentation using PLM (3DX).
• Learn ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 functional safety concepts.
