Job summary

RTX is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer II for their Plano, TX facility. You will design, develop, and test real-time embedded software powering critical aerospace and defense systems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role requires 2+ years of engineering experience, proficiency in C++, Python, and scripting, and active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain SAP access after start. Onsite work in Plano is required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
• Experience developing, testing, and integrating real‑time software applications written in C++ or closely related software languages.
• Experience with computer scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl.
• Minimum of 2 years of prior Special Access Program (SAP) experience or similar classified program experience Active and transferable Top Secret with SCI U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain Special Program Access after start.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the requirements, design, development, and testing of real-time embedded software and tools.
• Developing new software products or enhancing existing applications and systems.
• Designing, coding, testing, integrating, and documenting software solutions.
• Participating in internal reviews of software components and systems.
• Collaborating with project managers and engineering teams to meet project goals and deliverables.
• Following established development practices and processes, including configuration management of software products.
• Supporting occasional business travel as required, up to 10%.
