Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Dulles, VA, seeks an Embedded Software Engineer - Level 2 to develop flight software platforms for national and global security programs. The role requires active Secret clearance and is onsite with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

Responsibilities include developing embedded software modules, BSPs, and device drivers, collaborating across disciplines, and delivering design documentation and verification plans for Space Systems projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2+ years of relevant professional experience, or Master's degree.
• Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance required.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python.
• Understanding of embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and avionics integration/testing.
• Knowledge of concurrent vs. parallel processing.
• Familiarity with Stellar or CFS.
• Demonstrated Linux experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software modules and BSPs; work with UART, MIL-STD-1553, SPACEWIRE, SPI, and other interfaces.
• Collaborate with disciplines to define flight-software requirements, testing and verification plans.
• Integrate device drivers and BSPs; perform simulations and hardware-in-the-loop work.
• Prepare design docs, analyses, test results and presentation materials for internal and external customers.
• Troubleshoot software installation, integration and operational issues with engineers.
