Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer - Level 3 or 4 in McLean, VA, to support Lunar Base Infrastructure and NASA programs. The role requires TS/SCI clearance, is 100% onsite, and includes a 9/80 work schedule with occasional travel.

You will develop embedded software, configure BSPs, and ensure integration with hardware platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams across Space Systems.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience in C, Python, Linux, and Git.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Team collaboration across systems, software, and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software modules interacting with hardware protocols (UART, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, SPI).
• Configure board support packages and integrate device drivers.
• Work with Flight-Software requirements, testing, and verification plans.
• Perform hardware/software integration on simulation and hardware-in-the-loop platforms.
• Prepare design documentation, testing results, and customer materials.
