Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in Goleta, CA seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead software and FPGA development for Electronic Warfare projects. You will design, implement, test, and integrate real-time embedded systems while collaborating with systems, firmware, and electrical engineers.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a STEM degree, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance. Onsite work with occasional travel, relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C/C++ and embedded software development.
• Experience with real-time embedded platforms and FPGA-based design.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on cross-disciplinary teams to plan, design, test, and integrate complex software/systems.
• Develop software requirements and FPGA interfaces from system-level requirements; perform simulations and lab tests.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, electrical, and software engineers to deliver innovative EW solutions.
• Lead architecture and design activities, drive verification and validation, and support field testing.
