Job summary

Raytheon Goleta, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Real-time Embedded to join an experienced EW software development team. You will work on real-time embedded products in a collaborative, fast-paced environment at an on-site location.

You should bring 5+ years in C/C++, embedded platforms, and system-on-chip design, with experience across Linux/bare-metal. A DoD Secret clearance is preferred and relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in software design, integration and test using C/C++.
• Experience with embedded microprocessor design, SOC software, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR and memory interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-disciplinary integrated product teams using agile methods to plan, specify, design, test, and integrate software and systems solutions.
• Innovate implementations of new products and technologies from architecture to field test.
• Collaborate with systems, firmware, electrical and software engineers to produce planning and technical work products.
• Develop software requirements and FPGA interface requirements from system requirements; perform simulations and testing in lab settings.
• Work in an advanced product development environment handling dynamic development cycles and travel as needed.
• Engage with Systems and Electrical Engineers to align on architectures and milestones.

Raytheon's Electronic Warfare (EW) Software development team is looking to hire experienced Senior Software Engineer, Real-time Embedded to work on real-time embedded products.

What You Will Do:

• Participate in collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile system and software development operations to plan, specify, design, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.
• Responsibilities include innovating creative implementations of new products and technologies, from architecture and design, through integration, lab test and field test.
• Collaborating effectively with other disciplines and senior technical staff, in addition to producing planning and technical work products for internal customers to form original solutions to complex problems.
• Developing software requirements and FPGA level interface requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, performing simulations and analysis and testing of the software in a laboratory setting.
• Work in an advanced product development team environment with systems, firmware, electrical and software engineers.
• Handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment including engagement with Systems and Electrical Engineers
• This position will require occasional business-related travel.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in software design, integration and test utilizing C / C++.
• Experience with embedded microprocessor design, system on a chip software design, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR, flash memories, block diagrams, signal analyses or signal generation.
• Experience developing real-time applications on embedded platforms, including bare metal (no-OS), embedded Linux, or Windows environments.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required , as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Current transferable DoD Secret security clearance.
• Electronic Warfare Electronic Attack/Electronic Support (EA/ES), Radar, or Secure Communications technology knowledge.
• Experience with .NET C# using WPF and MVVM.
• Tool familiarity: Visual Studio, Vitis, TortoiseSVN, Jenkins, Jira, Collaborator.
• Lab experience in product testing using logic analyzers, high-speed. oscilloscopes, signal generators, and system on chip debugging tools.
• Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: VME, PCI, PCIe, VPX, or Gb Ethernet.
• Experience across all phases of software lifecycle from architecture to system integration, and post-delivery maintenance.
• Experience with software algorithm development, and machine learning.
• Experienced in Agile development processes.
