Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking an Embedded Linux Software Engineer II to join our Microelectronics Technology Directorate in ART. You will develop and optimize BSPs, tailor Linux for custom hardware, and work on bootloaders, kernels, and device drivers for diverse boards.

You will collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and FPGA teams to advance aerospace tech. Active security clearance, citizenship, and Linux expertise are essential for this onsite role in El Segundo.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience as a command line user of Linux.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain our embedded Linux BSP and customize Linux OS ecosystem across hardware boards.
• Contribute to design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve hardware-software issues.
