Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate complex software for aerospace and defense systems. You will work on an IPT, covering requirements, architecture, implementation, verification, and testing across the full lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve challenging problems and deliver reliable software that meets mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with embedded Linux, C/C++, Bash, Python, and Linux device drivers.

Responsibilities

• Design and enhance Linux OS ecosystem, including kernel, bootloader, drivers, and BSP.
• Develop and support embedded Linux software systems across lifecycle.
• Perform root cause analysis of hardware–software issues.
• Prepare builds for simulation, reference platforms, and target hardware.
• Follow Collins Aerospace processes to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute to engineering estimates for features.
