Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to design and maintain embedded Linux software, BSPs and drivers for mission-critical boards. You will collaborate with hardware, FPGA and systems teams to deliver secure, high-performance software in radios and processing systems.

This onsite role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience (5+ with advanced degree), Bash/Python scripting, C/C++, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. U.S.

Competenze

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or advanced degree with relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting and embedded C/C++.
• Experience with embedded Linux device drivers and board bring-up.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.

Mansioni

• Design, develop and enhance embedded Linux software systems across multiple boards.
• Maintain build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, BSP and device drivers.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA and systems teams for integrated solutions.
• Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms and target hardware.
• Contribute to engineering estimates and provide technical leadership.
