Job summary

Arrow Electronics is seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineer in Austin, TX with 5+ years in embedded hardware design. The role focuses on PCB development, high-speed interfaces, and sensor-board integration, with hands-on board bring-up and testing. Familiarity with FCC/CE/UL compliance is a plus.

The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver robust hardware solutions and drive cost optimization throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware/electronics design.
• Experience with i.MX8/i.MX9, ESP32, STM32.
• Experience with MIPI DSI/CSI, LVDS, HDMI, USB, SPI, I²C, UART, and camera/display interfaces.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM, component selection, and cost optimization.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed design, signal/power integrity, thermal analysis, EMI/EMC, and hardware debugging.
• Experience in board bring-up, lab testing, EDVT, functional/performance testing, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with FCC, IC, CE, UL certifications and resolving issues during compliance testing.
• Experience working with suppliers, PCB fabrication/assembly teams, customers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Sensor boards and integration of motion, temperature, light, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer sensors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design embedded hardware/electronics and PCB development.
• Work with i.MX8/9, ESP32, STM32 and related processors.
• Implement high-speed interfaces (MIPI DSI/CSI, LVDS, HDMI, USB, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Capture schematics and layout PCBs; manage BOM and cost optimization.
• Ensure high-speed signal/power integrity, thermal analysis, EMI/EMC and debugging.
• Lead board bring-up, lab testing, EDVT, and functional/performance testing.
• Collaborate with suppliers, PCB fabrication/assembly teams, customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Sensor boards integration and evaluation of motion, temperature, light sensors is a plus.
