Job summary

Intramotev is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join the on‑vehicle embedded software team in St. Louis, MO. This full‑time, in‑office role involves owning a firmware feature, from implementation to on‑target validation, within a small team of engineers.

You will develop firmware for FreeRTOS or embedded Linux, debug on hardware, and work with CAN networks, Git, and Linux tools. Relocation assistance is possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 2–5 years of professional embedded software experience shipping production firmware.
• Strong C and C++ on a real‑time RTOS (FreeRTOS/Zephyr) or embedded Linux.
• Experience with on‑target debugging — JTAG/SWD or logic analyzers.
• Familiarity with CAN bus or vehicle/industrial network protocols.
• Disciplined testing practice — writes unit tests, follows coverage expectations, and verifies behavior on target hardware.
• Git in a collaborative workflow (branching, PRs, code review) and comfort using a Linux CLI.
• Problem‑solving ability — reason about trade‑offs and drive to a working solution on real hardware.
• Fluent written and verbal English.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. No work‑visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Firmware Development: design, implement, and maintain firmware for an embedded device or subsystem.
• On‑Target Debugging: validate firmware on real hardware using JTAG/SWD and logic analyzers.
• Network Integration: troubleshoot CAN bus and vehicle network communication.
• Testing & Validation: write unit tests and verify behavior on target hardware before shipping.
• Collaboration: participate in code reviews and follow PR workflows.
• Problem solving: tackle underspecified problems and drive to working hardware solutions.
