Job summary

Intramotev seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own detailed design across vehicle integration hardware and electrical/electronic enclosures for a battery-electric railcar platform. This in‑office, St. Louis role covers concept through production with a cross‑functional team of engineers.

Candidate experience ranges from 5+ years of hands‑on ownership to senior technical leadership. Strong 3D CAD and GD&T skills are essential, as is English fluency. Relocation is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience for vehicles, enclosures, or complex equipment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD; able to work from vague requirements.
• Willingness to expand into new technical areas; innovative mindset.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• U.S. Person; no immigration sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Own detailed design of vehicle integration hardware and enclosures from concept through production.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses to validate designs.
• Design enclosures addressing thermal management, ingress protection, EMI shielding.
• Apply GD&T and DFA/DFM and collaborate with manufacturing to optimize cost and buildability.
• Develop test plans and support validation activities.
• Provide lifecycle technical support for fielded designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to resolve interfaces.
• Maintain complete design documentation for production and service.
