Job summary

Intramotev, based in St. Louis, MO, is hiring a Full-Stack Software Engineer for the Controls team. You will own the control stack end-to-end, from server-side trip planning to onboard execution on vehicles, collaborating with Perception and Embedded teams on autonomous capabilities.

This is a hands-on, safety-critical, in-office role with domestic travel for testing and demonstrations. You will develop across the full depth of the control stack, write tests, and contribute to production-quality

Qualifications

• Approximately 2 years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production software.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design of maintainable systems.
• Proficiency in languages such as Python, C, C++, Rust, Go, MATLAB/Simulink or willingness to ramp to a new systems language.
• Experience with Linux and Git in collaborative workflows.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) and know when to use them.
• Experience with testing: unit/integration tests and regression testing.
• Comfort working across disciplines with hardware and software teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build server-side modules that plan and administer trips for rail vehicles.
• Develop onboard execution modules that run on vehicles and execute plans safely.
• Prototype quickly, then harden into production-quality code.
• Build and harden real-time messaging with appropriate delivery guarantees.
• Maintain data integrity across track and vehicle data interfaces.
• Collaborate with Perception, Embedded and Applications teams.
• Write tests, fix production bugs with regression tests, and participate in code reviews.
• Support field testing and integration on physical rail vehicles when needed.
