Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Firmware Engineer II to collaborate with engineers across the globe on embedded systems powering batteries, motors, and electronics for our tools.

You will design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot real-time firmware, develop test plans, and mentor junior engineers while aligning with our manufacturing processes and regulatory standards.

Travel up to 10% and contribute to cross-functional milestones in a fast-growing construction-tech brand.

Qualifications

• Embedded C/C++ programming for embedded systems.
• Familiar with test and validation of firmware.
• Experience with CI/CD and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience with debugging and problem-solving under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded systems.
• Develop and execute test plans for firmware applications.
• Use oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.
• Conduct experiments and analyze data to draw conclusions.
• Track projects and communicate status to teams and management.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team culture.
• Collaborate with suppliers for component selection on projects.
• Prepare and present technical meeting agendas and presentations.
• Understand manufacturing processes to mass produce tools.
• Design and qualify solutions to UL/CE/ANSI standards.
