Job summary
Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Principal Firmware Engineer to lead embedded firmware architecture and teams. You'll translate system requirements into robust firmware for batteries, motors, and electronics, working with cross-functional partners to deliver on-time results.
You will mentor engineers, review designs, and drive agile processes, test procedures, and code quality. Travel up to 10% and contribute to a fast-growing, collaborative culture that values innovation and delivery.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of embedded C/C++ experience.
- 3+ years of leadership, teaching or mentoring.
- Experience in all software development lifecycle phases.
- Ability to read schematics and digital circuits.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small to medium team of engineers in embedded firmware projects.
- Define and refine firmware requirements based on marketing and user needs.
- Design and implement embedded software systems using agile processes.
- Peer-review software/firmware architecture, designs and source code.
- Establish and execute test procedures for software and subsystems.
- Drive project schedules, cost metrics, and risk management.
