Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Firmware Engineer II to join our electrical engineering team and contribute to embedded firmware for power tools. You will design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot real-time embedded systems while collaborating with engineers across functions to meet milestones.

You will develop test plans, use NI hardware and LabVIEW-based workflows, and participate in design reviews. Expect 10% travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with embedded C/C++ or a comparable programming language for embedded systems.
• Experience with DevOps, automated testing (LabVIEW), CI/CD, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), unit testing, structural testing methodologies, National Instruments hardware, and TestStand.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded systems for real-time applications and mid-complexity projects.
• Develop and execute test plans for firmware applications and subsystems.
• Use lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and data acquisition systems.
• Track projects to ensure schedule adherence and communicate status to teams.
