Job summary

New York Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer in Waller, Texas for a long-term contract. The role focuses on design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of embedded software for HVAC and smart control systems.

You will work with Embedded C/C++, Zephyr RTOS, and Modbus interfaces, ensuring robust, secure, and high-performance products. Strong debugging, hardware/software integration, and CI/CD experience are desired.

Qualifications

• Experience designing embedded firmware for HVAC and smart control systems.
• MISRA-C and secure coding guidelines familiarity.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and board bring‑up.
• Strong debugging and testing automation skills.
• Experience with Modbus RTU/TCP interfaces.
• CI/CD practices for embedded projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software for HVAC and smart control systems.
• Develop device drivers, middleware, and application-layer software components.
• Implement modular, reusable software architecture following best practices.
• Ensure MISRA-C compliance and secure coding standards.
• Develop and optimise embedded applications using Zephyr RTOS.
• Configure tasks, threads, semaphores, queues, timers, and interrupt handling.
• Integrate Zephyr-based solutions with hardware platforms and communication stacks.
• Troubleshoot and support hardware/software integration tasks.
