Accelera in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to own the full firmware lifecycle for connected HVAC solutions, from design to manufacturing, leveraging Embedded C on ARM Cortex‑M with RTOS or bare‑metal.

You will work with hardware and software teams to optimize drivers (I2C, SPI, UART, DMA) and implement secure OTA updates, low‑power modes, and robust debugging with GDB, SWD, and J‑Link, while driving code reviews and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Architect and support embedded software solutions tailored for ARM Cortex-M architectures.
• Create robust firmware utilizing Embedded C within both bare-metal and RTOS environments.
• Enhance system performance by optimizing drivers for peripherals such as I2C, SPI, UART, DMA, GPIO, timers, and watchdogs.
• Design efficient bootloaders and low-power firmware update processes to extend product longevity.
• Develop wireless solutions including mesh networking, Z-Wave, and sub-GHz protocols to enable device connectivity.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
• Utilize debugging tools like GDB, SWD, J-Link to troubleshoot and validate performance.
• Contribute to secure firmware architectures and reliable OTA update processes.
• Engage in documentation, code reviews, and process improvements to uphold quality.
