Capgemini Engineering in Houston region seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware for HVAC and smart control systems. You will implement modular architectures, write device drivers, and ensure secure coding practices with Zephyr RTOS.

The role emphasizes RTOS development, Modbus integration, and hardware/software bring-up across microcontroller-based platforms, with CI/CD for embedded projects and strong debugging skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in embedded software roles.
• Experience with Zephyr RTOS and Modbus communication.
• Experience with hardware/software integration and board bring-up.
• Familiarity with MISRA-C and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware using Embedded C/C++ for microcontroller-based systems.
• Implement modular, reusable, and scalable software architecture following industry best practices.
• Develop device drivers, middleware, and application-layer software components.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards such as MISRA-C and secure coding guidelines.
• RTOS Development
• Develop and optimize embedded applications using Zephyr RTOS.
• Configure and manage tasks, threads, semaphores, queues, timers, and interrupt handling mechanisms.
• Integrate Zephyr-based solutions with hardware platforms and communication stacks.
• Communication Protocol Integration
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot Modbus RTU/TCP communication interfaces.
• Develop communication frameworks for interaction between controllers, sensors, gateways, and cloud-connected devices.
• Analyze protocol traces and resolve communication and interoperability issues.
