Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Indianapolis, IN to help develop the next generation of connected HVAC products. You will design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for ARM Cortex-M based systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions.

You'll work on bootloaders, OTA updates, and low-power designs, plus wireless capabilities like Z-Wave and sub-GHz protocols. Strong debugging skills with J-Link/SWD/GDB are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Strong experience developing embedded software in Embedded C.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
• Experience debugging embedded systems using J-Link, SWD, GDB.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for ARM Cortex-M-based systems.
• Develop bare-metal and RTOS-based firmware; implement drivers (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, DMA, timers, watchdogs).
• Design bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms; low-power embedded applications.
• Develop wireless solutions (Z-Wave, mesh, sub-GHz).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers; debug and validate embedded systems.
