Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer in Texas to design, develop, and maintain firmware for HVAC and smart control systems. You will work on microcontroller-based platforms using Embedded C/C++ and Zephyr RTOS, focusing on reliable, secure, high-performance solutions.

You will implement modular software architectures, develop drivers and middleware, conduct code reviews for MISRA-C compliance, and integrate Modbus RTU/TCP with hardware and cloud-connected devices.

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience in Embedded C/C++.
• Hands-on experience with Zephyr RTOS.
• Expertise in Modbus RTU/TCP communication.
• Embedded debugging and troubleshooting.
• CI/CD for embedded projects.
• Hardware/software integration and board bring-up.
• MISRA-C and secure coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
• Implement modular, reusable software architecture following best practices.
• Develop device drivers, middleware, and application-layer software components.
• Perform code reviews and ensure MISRA-C compliance.
• Develop and optimize applications using Zephyr RTOS.
• Integrate Zephyr with hardware platforms and communication stacks.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot Modbus interfaces.
• Analyze protocol traces and resolve interoperability issues.
