Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our client’s Central New York team in North Syracuse, onsite. You will develop and debug embedded C firmware for 8/16/32‑bit MCUs, collaborating with hardware engineers on sensors, relays, and motors across HVAC/R and industrial applications.

Ideal candidates have strong bare‑metal firmware experience, can explain past projects and challenges, and may bring HVAC/R or industrial electronics familiarity, with relocation support

Qualifications

• Hands-on embedded C firmware experience required
• Strong microcontroller knowledge (8/16/32-bit) and hardware interfaces
• Experience debugging bare‑metal firmware and HW-FW interactions
• Able to explain past embedded projects, challenges and solutions
• HVAC/R or industrial electronics familiarity is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain embedded firmware in C
• Develop firmware for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers
• Create control logic for sensors, relays, motors, and switches
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on product development and troubleshooting
• Debug hardware and firmware with scopes and lab equipment
• Contribute to new product development, testing, and validation
• Troubleshoot existing products and support continuous improvement
• Document code and participate in design reviews for manufacturing
