Job summary

Keenfinity Group in Fairport, NY is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineering Co-op to help design, develop, and test firmware for our security systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gain experience in Linux and FreeRTOS, and contribute to the cloud-native security ecosystem.

You'll write embedded code in C/C++, Python, design test strategies, and participate in reviews with seasoned engineers. The U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in relevant engineering fields with GPA ≥ 3.0.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in structured, accountable way.
• Experience with embedded software/hardware integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in firmware design, architecture and requirements engineering.
• Develop and test embedded software for security products.
• Write C/C++ and Python to automate testing.
• Collaborate with software engineers, testers and PMs.
• Participate in code reviews and technical project reviews.
• Define test cases and test strategies for project requirements.
• Estimate tasks and support cross-functional teams.
• Drive verification of electrical, mechanical and software platforms.
• Troubleshoot products and test equipment; propose and implement fixes.
