Job summary

Keenfinity Group in Fairport, NY is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineering Co-op to assist in firmware design and architecture for security system products. You will participate in requirements engineering, collaborate with customers to define expectations, and write embedded software in C, C++, and Python to automate testing.

You will work with cross-functional teams, gain experience with Linux and FreeRTOS, and help design test strategies while contributing to a cloud-native security

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a technology-related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Motivated self-starter with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Participate in panel development for a new product, a cloud-native security ecosystem.
• Take responsibility for designated software tasks from design through development, integration & test.
• Test code against usage, investigate faults, and automate unit tests.
• Facilitate and assist in the task estimation process.
• Work in a cross-functional team with software engineers, testers, and product managers.
• Participate in technical project reviews and code reviews.
• Identify test cases from project requirements and design test strategies.
