Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an early-career R&D Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and sustain embedded control systems for ULT cold storage platforms. You will create PCBA schematics, analyze performance, and write firmware in C/C++ and develop HMI concepts.

You will collaborate with product management, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions across global facilities. On-site in Marietta, OH with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years hands-on experience developing embedded control systems for electromechanical products.
• Experience in electronics including analog and digital circuit design, prototyping, qualification planning.
• Experience with high-speed signaling (USB, Ethernet, LVDS) and mixed-signal design.
• Experience in firmware and software development for electronic controls.
• Familiarity with Lean / continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded control PCBA and related circuits for ULT freezers and cold storage platforms.
• Create schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and documentation.
• Develop performance and qualification test methods and analyze results.
• Develop controller firmware and HMI designs using C/C++ and Qt.
• Design electrical systems meeting customer requirements, time-to-market, and cost targets.
• Create modular, scalable solutions across product platforms.
• Collaborate with refrigeration and mechanical teams through NPD toll-gate processes.
• Support validation testing with contract manufacturers and global facilities.
